Larry Robertson’s Information
Since 1987, Larry Robertson has served as president and CEO of
Mycotech Biological (MBI). Mr. Robertson oversees all of MBI’s
operations and is dedicated to the purpose of providing high
quality microbiological support services to the indoor air
quality community. These support services have included
providing indoor air quality inspections, reporting and
consultation services to the EPA, U.S. Customs, FEMA, Texas
Department of Health and thousands of residential, commercial
and institutional facilities nationwide and internationally. Mr.
Robertson has performed IAQ research on various indoor air
pollutants including the precedent studies evaluating the
efficacy of HVAC sanitation and establishing typical and
acceptable levels for indoor fungal bioaerosols.
Mr. Robertson has earned a B.S. in Biology from Southwest Texas
State University, a M.S. in Botany with a Mycology emphasis from
Southwest Texas State University, a non-traditional Ph.D. in Environmental
Engineering from Kennedy Western University, a Composite
Secondary Science Teaching Certificate from Sam Houston State
University. Mr. Robertson has served as a consultant to the EPA
in a study involving Risk Management of Stachybotrys chartarum
and has served on the Mold Task Force for the Texas Dept of
Health and has provided expert witness testimony to the Office
of Texas Attorney General for consumer affairs. Mr. Robertson
has over 17 years experience in providing consultation regarded
mold-related legal cases, performing building investigations,
providing cause/origin and remedial consultation, as well as
providing IAQ over-site and training.
Mr. Robertson’s professionalism and his dedication to mycology
and IAQ is evident by his numerous awards and accomplishments in
the IAQ community. In 1999 – 2002, Mr. Robertson was an advisory
board member for the Mechanical System Hygiene Institute. He
provided oversight and consulting to a national organization
involved with the training and education of professionals in
mechanical system hygiene. In 1997 and 1998, Mr. Robertson was
recognized by the International Power IAQ 50 as one of the top
50 individuals and one of only three microbiologists worldwide
in having the most significant impact on indoor air quality
education, research and industry development. From 1995 – 2001,
Mr. Robertson was the president and founding board member for
the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). He was instrumental
in monitoring and directing a national association in the
facilitation of IAQ training, instruction and certification
programs. Mr. Robertson was Chairman of the Standards Committee
that developed the IAQA 01-2000 Guidelines for Indoor
Environments. Mr. Robertson also served on the NADCA Standards
Council PC-07 committee in 1997-1998 designated to determine
acceptable levels and populations of microorganisms within
